Itú and surroundings
Itu was one of the first places to be occupied in Brasil, when Portugal still needed to establish the ownership of territory there; the ´bandeirantes`opted for the building model of ´Casa Bandeiristica` which was a more accurate construction than before.
Some houses are still inhabited, structurally intact, in spite of having been built on the XVII and XVIII centuries. The main difference from the ancient ones lies on the carpentry work, with a mix of Portuguese and Indian arts.
